PROJECT DESCRIPTIONThe Amesbury Riverwalk included the design and construction of a two-mile riverwalk and bicycle trail over diverse topography along both sides of the Powow River. The project will links the historic downtown and Millyard with regional bike trails. The paved trail provides scenic views of the Powwow River, tidal marshes, and historic sites. The trail is used by walkers, joggers, bikers, bird watchers and anyone interested in a pleasant, quiet walk. The project was funded by the Massachusetts Highway Department under Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act. The project was constructed by John Hartnet & Sons.
